You can specify input and output actions to be triggered by navigating to Profile > MIDI.
It should be noted that MIDI is a user level feature, so setting input and output actions will only affect your profile.
Input Actions #
These are used to match incoming MIDI message, then trigger an action in a Cue Sheet or the Prompter.
When adding an input action, you will click the “Add” button and fill out the following fields:
Name
A friendly name for you to remember it by
On MIDI Input (Status,Note,Velocity)
The MIDI message to listen for. See Setting the MIDI (Status,Note,Velocity) Field below
Trigger Action
The action you want to be triggered when the MIDI message is received.
Output Actions #
These are used to send a MIDI message when you perform an action in a Cue Sheet or the Prompter.
When adding an output action, you will click the “Add” button and fill out the following fields:
Name
A friendly name for you to remember it by
On Action
The action you want use to trigger the MIDI message with.
Send MIDI (Status,Note,Velocity)
The MIDI message to send. See Setting the MIDI (Status,Note,Velocity) Field below
Setting the MIDI (Status,Note,Velocity) Field #
The quickest way to set the MIDI message is by connecting your MIDI device and following these simple steps:
- Connect your MIDI device
- Click the Reload MIDI button in the upper right
- Select the (Status,Note,Velocity) dropdown
- Ensure your MIDI device shows up and you see “Listening for MIDI messages…” in the dropdown
- Press the key/button you want to use on your MIDI device.
- Click the blue copy button to the right of the MIDI message you wish to use
- The MIDI message will auto-populate into the (Status,Note,Velocity) field
- Make sure you have a name and action set
- Click save, and you’re done!
